The FLETA Office of Accreditation (OA) hosted a curriculum review committee (CRC) for the Assessor Training Program (ATP) December 5-6, 2017 in Glynco, GA. Subject matter experts from AFOSI, DOI, FLETC, ICE, NBIB, NCIS, and USMS supported the process. The CRC discussed the student reaction surveys, the existing written examination, and the feedback from graduates and team leaders who supervise during FLETA assessments.
“On behalf of the FLETA Board, I would like to thank the CRC participants for their dedication to this process,” stated Joe Collins, FLETA OA Executive Director. “I am impressed by the program that the CRC has developed and believe that it will have a continued positive impact on the OA’s ability to train FLETA assessors to meet the Board’s expectations.”
The CRC clarified the target audience for the program: personnel that will conduct FLETA assessments. By having a more clearly defined audience, this will help ensure that those who attend the ATP will become future FLETA assessors.
The OA will continue to provide the FLETA Fundamentals program to meet the needs of each agency and can now deliver it in-person and online. Additionally, the OA has online webinars for AMs and will be able to deliver AM workshops. Finally, the OA is working on developing a Self-Assessor Workshop to support personnel who will only conduct self-assessments.
