FLETA Board Grants Accreditation to the DOI BOR SRF BTP
The Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) Board is pleased to announce it granted accreditation status to the Department of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, Security Response Force Basic Training Program (SRF BTP) at the April 15, 2021 meeting.
The purpose of the SRF BTP is to give students the opportunity to practice and get evaluated via written examinations and practical exercises in several law enforcement disciplines including Use of Force, De-escalation, Control Tactics, and Firearms. Every graduate will leave with both, the tactical and technical skills and physical ability to rapidly and effectively respond to the entire spectrum of known dam sector threats. The SRF BTP is 45 instructional days and consists of 400 hours of instruction. The average number of students per iteration of the program is 10.
The FLETA Board is the accrediting body for all federal law enforcement training and support programs. To achieve accreditation, agencies submit to an independent review of their academy and/or program to ensure compliance with the FLETA standards and procedures in the areas of Academy/Program Administration, Training Staff, Training Development, and Training Delivery. Accreditation is a cyclical process occurring every five years. Each year, agencies must submit annual reports in preparation for reaccreditation, which is a new and independent review of the academy/program.
