The purpose of the ATF Accelerant Detection Canine Handler Program is to provide students with comprehensive courses on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives canine training methodologies and utilization of Accelerant Detection Canines for state, local, other Federal, and foreign law enforcement agencies. The program places canines with state and local agencies to support arson investigation activities. This program provides canines to protect the public, both in the United States and internationally. The program is 35 instructional days and consists of 240 hours of instruction.
