The purpose of the Firearms Instructor Training Program is to train Federal Air Marshals to effectively teach the Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshal Service (LE/FAMS) Firearms Curriculum to students and provide effective coaching during practical exercises on the firing ranges at the TSA Training Center Atlantic City or a FAMS field office. The program is delivered almost exclusively on firing ranges. The program is 10 instructional days and consists of 80 hours of instruction. The average number of students per iteration of the program is 12.
