The purpose/goal of the program is to teach knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties and responsibilities of a U.S. Navy Master-at-Arms. This course is designed as a voluntary, high-risk, course of instruction which includes, Oleoresin Capsicum (OC Spray) training and Small Arms live fire of the service pistol, service shotgun and service rifle. All courses of fire used for this course of instruction shall be conducted in accordance with OPNAVINST 3591.1G, "Small Arms Training and Qualification". All DOD/Navy directives concerning small arms safety and range procedures shall be strictly adhered to in conducting this course. Trainees will receive training in Antiterrorism, Security Reaction Force, and Security procedures to include, but not limited to, Pier Sentry, Harbor Security, Force Protection Conditions, Physical Security Safeguards, Apprehension, Search and Seizure, Use of Force/Deadly Force and Confrontation Management as they pertain to the duties of U.S. Security Forces.
