The purpose of the MPBC is to provide foundational initial entry law enforcement training and Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) qualification for Marine Corps MOS 5811 Military Police. Traditional classroom instruction involving informal lecture, case studies, and guided discussion are regularly implemented throughout the program. In addition, practical applications, are prolific throughout the program. Knowledge based requirements, and concepts are addressed using traditional classroom instruction whilst solidified through application labs and performance-oriented evaluations. The MPBC is 70 instructional days and consists of 560 hours of instruction. The average number of students per iteration of the program is 75.
