FLETA Reaccredits FLETC Programs

For Immediate Release
Members from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers receive Program Reaccreditation

The Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) Board is pleased to announce it has granted reaccreditation status to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) Instructional Systems Design and Marine Law Enforcement Training Programs at the April 12-14, 2016, meeting in Glynco, GA.

The Instructional System Design Training Program (ISDTP) provides training for Senior Instructors, Program Specialists, and other law enforcement personnel that require knowledge of the Instructional System Design (ISD) process. The training program is three days in length and there are a total of 24 hours in the program.   The ISDTP is a FLETC Center Advanced (CA) training program that provides the skills needed for course and program development.

The Marine Law Enforcement Training Program (MLETP) is 19 days in length and provides basic marine law enforcement training for officers/agents of those agencies and organizations involved in the specialized areas of marine regulation, protection, and law enforcement responsibilities. The major emphasis of this comprehensive training program is on the safe and proper operation of marine patrol vessels, with specific training in law enforcement operations.

The FLETA Board is the accrediting body for all federal law enforcement training and support programs. To achieve accreditation, agencies submit to an independent review of their academy and/or program to ensure compliance with the FLETA Standards and Procedures in the areas of: Administration, Training Staff, Training Development, Training Delivery, and Distance Learning. Accreditation is a cyclical process occurring every five years. Each year, agencies must submit annual reports in preparation for reaccreditation, which is a new and independent review of the academy/program.
