FLETA Board Grants Reaccreditation to the TIGTA Special Agent Advanced Training Program

The Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) Board is pleased to announce it has granted reaccreditation status to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) Special Agent Advanced Training Program (SAATP) at the November 1-3, 2016, meeting in Glynco, GA.

The purpose of the SAATP is to provide ongoing training to TIGTA special agents throughout their careers in investigative areas unique to TIGTA as well as the latest training in various law enforcement areas. The program is eight training days in length. TIGTA special agents will attend SAATP for the first time approximately three years after successfully completing TIGTA's Special Agent Basic Training Program (SABT), and every three to five years thereafter.

The FLETA Board is the accrediting body for all federal law enforcement training and support programs. To achieve accreditation, agencies submit to an independent review of their academy and/or program to ensure compliance with the FLETA Standards and Procedures in the areas of Administration, Training Staff, Training Development, Training Delivery, and Distance Learning. Accreditation is a cyclical process occurring every five years. Each year, agencies must submit annual reports in preparation for reaccreditation, which is a new and independent review of the academy/program.
