For Immediate Release

FLETA Board Grants Accreditation to the TSA TCSA CTC

The Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) Board is pleased to announce it granted initial accreditation status to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Training Center San Antonio (TCSA) Canine Training Center (CTC) at the November 7, 2024, meeting.

The purpose of the TSA TCSA CTC is to provide basic and advanced canine training to TSA personnel as well as other Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies with authorities on or surrounding our nation’s seaports. The CTC is located on the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) – Lackland, San Antonio, TX and provides basic and advanced canine, canine handler, and canine training instructor training at the JBSA-Lackland location. Additionally, staff at the CTC provide advanced training of canine teams at airports throughout the country.

The FLETA Board is the accrediting body for all federal law enforcement training and support programs. To achieve accreditation, training organizations submit to an independent review of their program and/or academy to ensure compliance with the FLETA Standards and Procedures in the areas of Administration, Training Staff, Training Development, and Training Delivery. Accreditation is a cyclical process occurring every five years. Each year, training organizations must submit annual reports in preparation for reaccreditation, which is a new and independent review of the program/academy.
