FLETA Program Managers Make Visits to the FBI, U.S. Capitol Police, and U.S. Secret Service

For Immediate Release
FLETA Program Managers Make Visits to the FBI, U.S. Capitol Police, and U.S. Secret Service

During the second week of March 2025, FLETA Office of Accreditation Program Managers were busy assisting some of its partnering Training Organizations in the National Capitol Region. Program Managers J.J. Hensley and Lisa Bak conducted a two-day FLETA Fundamentals Course in Fredericksburg, VA for the FBI’s Underwater Search and Evidence Response Team (USERT). The course included an introduction to FLETA, an overview of the FLETA Standards, a discussion on Maintaining Accreditation, and the Program Managers spent time with the USERT staff conducting a gap analysis of the program’s policies in relation to the FLETA standards. FLETA Fundamentals is a customizable workshop for delivery to training organization personnel as they prepare and support the organization's accreditation efforts, and may be modified to include building files, managing annual reports, completing a corrective action plan, and assessing files. FLETA Fundamentals may be delivered in-person or online. Online sessions may be recorded and provided securely to the organization for delivering in-house training or as a reference.

PM Hensley spent the remainder of the week with the U.S. Capitol Police in Cheltenham, MD and the U.S. Secret Service in Beltsville, MD reviewing training policies and potential evidence that would be used in accreditation assessments. Both training organizations made staff available to discuss current training processes, challenges, and accomplishments.
