Stephanie Denton serves as the Probation and Pretrial Services Office Training and Safety Division Chief and Academy Director at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Charleston, South Carolina. In that capacity, Stephanie oversees new officer and advanced training, use of force policy, safety incident and search reporting and oversees the probation and pretrial services national wellness committee. She has over 24 years of law enforcement experience, beginning as a juvenile intake officer and later becoming a U.S. Pretrial Services Officer. Prior to being named Academy Director, Stephanie served as the firearms and safety branch chief and taught officer response tactics and firearms, along with several other courses, at the academy since 2008. Stephanie received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice in 1998 and a Master of Criminal Justice degree in 2000, both from Washburn University in Topeka, KS. In addition, she graduated from the Federal Judiciary Center’s Leadership Development Program in 2015.
