Special Agent Basic Training Program (NCIS)

Naval Criminal Investigative Service Training Academy
Reaccreditation

The cornerstone for NCIS agency training is the Special Agent Basic Training Program (SABTP).  The SABTP is designed to train newly hired NCIS Special Agents.  Graduates of the SABTP provide investigative and operational support to the Navy and Marine Corps across the globe and aboard ship, carrying out their responsibilities under the authority of the Secretary of the Navy.  SABTP is delivered at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Brunswick, Georgia, and is 46 training days in length.  Through lecture, laboratories, and a practical exercise, trainees build upon the basic criminal investigator knowledge, skills and abilities gained in the Criminal Investigator Training Program, while learning new skills in accordance with NCIS standards.
