The ICE Office of Training and Development is responsible for providing the highest quality training to the ICE workforce. ICE training personnel must possess the technical knowledge, experience, developmental and instructional skills required to fulfill their assigned duties. To best meet the needs of ICE employees, the ICE Office of Training and Development created the Instructor Development course (IDC). The instructional goal of the IDC is for graduates of the course to safely, legally, and professionally instruct ICE Academy Training program modules of instruction, and to be able to work with instructional specialists to design, develop, and deliver ICE programs of instruction. During the five-day program, students learn principles, methods, and techniques that are important to their success as ICE instructors.
